How much does it cost to hire a driver for the day in Toronto?
A full day with a chauffeured SUV is priced by the hour: a GMC Yukon or Suburban from approximately $135 to $165/hr, a Lincoln Navigator from approximately $165/hr and a Cadillac Escalade from approximately $175/hr, with a 4-hour minimum. An 8-hour day in an Escalade is from approximately $1,400, plus HST and gratuity.
All prices plus HST 13% and gratuity. Full rate card: our rates. Rates are approximate; your written quote is the firm price.
Private driver Toronto: hourly or by the trip?
Inside the GTA, a private driver is booked by the hour. The rate is multiplied by the hours you book, most vehicles carry a 4-hour minimum, and the driver and vehicle stay with you from the first pickup to the last drop-off. That is the right fit for a day of meetings, a shopping day or a run of appointments where the stops and timing can move.
Airport runs and long trips are priced the other way: one price from pickup to drop-off, set by distance, with no hourly minimum. A drive to Muskoka takes a few hours for you but a full day for the vehicle, so it is quoted as one trip rather than hours times a rate. If your day mixes both, for example meetings downtown and then a drop at Pearson, the quote combines them.
Hire driver for the day: what an 8-hour day costs
Take a standard 8-hour day inside the GTA. In a GMC Yukon or Suburban it is from approximately $1,080 to $1,320. In a Lincoln Navigator it is from approximately $1,320, and in a Cadillac Escalade from approximately $1,400. A group of up to 14 in an Executive Mercedes-Benz Sprinter is from approximately $1,560 for the same 8 hours. HST of 13% and gratuity of 15 to 20% are added on top.
If the day runs long, the extra time is prorated at the same hourly rate, so a 10-hour Escalade day is from approximately $1,750. Parking between stops, waiting outside a meeting and changes to the order of stops all sit inside the booked hours. For a firm price on your exact day, send the schedule through the quote form.
Personal driver for hire: add-ons that change the price
Most days need nothing extra. When they do, the add-ons come from the published rate card and show on your quote before you pay. A child seat is $25. Extra luggage such as golf clubs, ski bags or oversized cases is $15. A pet in a carrier is $50.
Highway 407 ETR tolls are charged at cost and only when the route uses the 407, and your chauffeur asks before taking it. On a one-way trip, an additional stop is from $30 and the first 15 minutes of waiting are free, then waiting is billed in 30-minute increments. On an hourly booking, stops and waiting are already part of the hours you booked.
Private car service outside Toronto
A full day that leaves the GTA is quoted as one day price rather than the GTA hourly rate, because the vehicle has to get out there and back. One-way trips are priced by distance, and the airport fares give a sense of scale: Pearson to Niagara Falls is from approximately $380 one way in an SUV and $520 in an Escalade, and Pearson to Hamilton is from approximately $190 in an SUV.
For a full day trip to wine country, a resort or a family event out of town, share the plan and we price the whole day as one trip. Our rate card lists the published airport and hourly figures.
Toronto chauffeur service for a day of meetings
A meeting day works best when we have the schedule before the car arrives. Send the first pickup time, each address, the rough length of each meeting and when the day ends. The chauffeur plans the order of the route around that list and stays close to each building while you are inside, so the vehicle is at the door when you come out rather than circling or parked blocks away.
Plans change during a working day. A meeting runs over, a lunch moves, a colleague joins for the last two stops. On an hourly booking none of that needs a new booking or a new price: the car is yours for the hours booked, and any time past the end is billed at the same hourly rate. If the day grows from 6 people to 9, call us and we can swap the SUV for a larger vehicle when one is free.
The back seat also works as a quiet office between stops. You can take calls, read before the next meeting or prepare a client without watching the road or looking for parking. For firms that book often, a corporate account adds monthly billing, more than one authorised booker and NET-30 terms for qualified businesses.
Private drivers for hire for visitors and family days
Not every full day is business. Families hire a driver for a wedding weekend, a day of shopping in Yorkville and Square One, a run of medical appointments along University Avenue, or a relative visiting Toronto who does not want to drive on unfamiliar highways. The pricing is the same hourly rate, and the same chauffeur stays with the group from the first pickup to the last stop.
For a family day, pick the vehicle by the number of people and bags. A GMC Yukon or Suburban fits 6 people and 5 bags and is from approximately $135 to $165/hr. A Lincoln Navigator fits 7 people and 6 bags from approximately $165/hr. If young children are coming, add a child seat for $25 each and tell us their ages when you book so the right seats are fitted.
Visitors arriving at Pearson can start the day straight from the airport. Book the pickup as the first stop of the day, and the driver takes the group to the hotel, a lunch reservation or the first sight, then on through the rest of the plan.
Hire a driver for the day: how many hours to book
Count the hours from the first pickup to the last drop-off, not just the time you expect to spend in the car. A day that starts at a hotel at 8:00 AM and ends with a dinner drop-off at 6:00 PM is a 10-hour booking, even if the car only moves for three of those hours. The waiting in between is what keeps the vehicle at the door for you.
Most daily bookings fall into 8, 10 or 12-hour blocks. Short half days still meet the 4-hour minimum on most vehicles, so a morning of two meetings across downtown is a 4-hour booking. If you are unsure, book the shorter block: extra time is prorated at the same hourly rate, and you only pay for the time you actually use past the end of the booking.
Leave room for traffic. Crossing the city on the 401 or the Gardiner at rush hour can take much longer than the map suggests, and a final Pearson drop-off should sit inside the booked hours with time to spare for check-in. Tell us about any fixed times, such as a flight, a ceremony or a doctor’s appointment, and the chauffeur plans the route backwards from them.
Here is a worked example. Four colleagues land at Pearson at 9:00 AM, visit two offices in Mississauga, have lunch in Yorkville, meet a client on Bay Street and finish at a hotel near Union Station at 5:00 PM. That is an 8-hour booking. In a GMC Yukon or Suburban it is from approximately $1,080 to $1,320, and in a Cadillac Escalade from approximately $1,400, plus HST of 13% and gratuity. If the client meeting runs an hour over, the extra hour is added at the same rate and the plan carries on.
For a day that ends outside the GTA, say so when you ask for a quote. A finish in Hamilton, Niagara or cottage country changes how the day is priced, because the vehicle still has to drive back. We fold that into one price so there are no surprises on the invoice.
Hire a driver or rideshare for a full day?
A rideshare app prices each leg on its own, so a day with six stops means six bookings, six waits and six prices that can rise with demand. Rush hour, a Friday evening or a snowstorm can push each fare up, and a different car turns up every time.
Hiring a driver for the day turns that into one booking. The hourly rate is set when you book, the vehicle waits between stops, your bags and shopping stay in the car, and you deal with one chauffeur who knows the whole plan. For a short single trip a rideshare can cost less. For a day with several stops, waiting time and a group of people, one hourly booking is usually simpler to plan and easier to put on an expense report, because the total is on one invoice.

Why Daily Driver Beats Rideshare
No Surge Pricing
Your quoted rate is locked. Rush hour, Friday evening, snowstorm: your rate doesn’t change. Invoice predictability for corporate expense management. No 2.5x multipliers during demand peaks or weather events.
Same Professional
No waiting. One chauffeur learns your preferences, anticipates needs, understands your schedule without repeated explanations. Professional relationship building impossible with rideshare randomness.
Mobile Office
Conference calls between meetings, email management during transit, document review without distraction. Professional environment rideshare cannot provide with conversation interruptions or unpredictable driver quality.
Rideshare works for single trips. Daily driver service works for full-day itineraries requiring coordination, reliability, professional standards. Bay Street executives don’t book six separate Ubers for investor roadshows. They book one professional chauffeur managing entire day logistics from first pickup through final airport departure.
