Platinum Cup team transportation rates
Count the parents before you pick the vehicle. A seventeen-player U11 roster that travels with one adult each is a thirty-five seat problem, not a seventeen seat one. The minimum spend column is a dollar floor on the booking, not a number of hours.

Team charter rates by the hour
Every vehicle in one table. The Cadillac Escalade and the Jet Sprinter are at the bottom because they carry coaching staff travelling apart from the group, not a team and its families.
Additional hours are billed at the same hourly rate. A resurface that slips or a game that runs over does not need a new booking. Extra time is agreed with your chauffeur before it starts.

It fits a single game with a known finish. It does not fit a tournament day, where the hours between games are exactly what you are trying to cover.

What is the GTHL Platinum Cup
A field that doubled from twenty-four teams to forty-eight is a different tournament to plan around. Six divisions running concurrently in a four-pad building means games stacked through the day, families arriving while others leave, and a car park that never settles.
It is also open beyond the league, to Hockey Canada sanctioned, OHF and USA Hockey teams at those age levels. Teams travelling any distance to a November draw for nine and ten year olds are the ones that most need a single vehicle: a young roster spread across eight cars in unfamiliar territory is how a team ends up short at a warm-up.
The Greater Toronto Hockey League is the largest minor hockey league in the world. A draw at this age group fills quickly, and so do the group vehicles for that weekend.
Getting to Scotiabank Pond for the cup
Four sheets of ice is how forty-eight teams fit into one building, and it is also why the site is relentless on a draw weekend. Several games start and finish at once, so the lots turn over continuously and the family that leaves home last parks furthest from the door with a nine year old and a bag.
The arena publishes no marked coach bay, so we do not claim one. We agree the unloading point with you beforehand, the bags come out of the hold at the entrance, and the vehicle goes and waits somewhere else. Nobody walks a child and a full bag across a busy car park in November.

How many seats a U10 or U11 team actually needs
Seventeen players with one adult each is thirty-four people before you have counted coaching staff or a sibling. That lands on the 35-Seat Limousine Bus or the 56-Passenger Coach, not on a Sprinter, and a manager who sizes the vehicle off the roster sheet alone will book something too small.
The upside is that it makes the per-family arithmetic better, not worse. The same vehicle cost divides across more families, so a coach carrying thirty families is cheaper each than a mini bus carrying eighteen. Send us the total headcount, adults included, and we will quote the vehicle that fits it.
Child seats are $25 each and are fitted in advance where a younger sibling is travelling. Give us ages at booking rather than on the morning.
Hockey equipment and bag space for a young team
Even a compact team bag runs about 24 by 14 by 14 inches, and a full-size one is roughly 35 by 18 by 18. Multiply by the roster, add a goalie carrying about double a skater’s volume, add stick bags that do not bend, and the cabin of a fourteen-seat van is gone before the players are in it.
What works is hold space underneath. The 27-Passenger Mini Bus and the 56-Passenger Coach both have it, so the gear goes in once at the start of the day and stays locked while the team is inside the rink. Nine and ten year olds are not carrying bags across a car park, and neither are their parents.

Early morning ice times and winter driving
Around 80 percent of league game ice falls on a weekend. A stacked November draw across six divisions uses every slot the building has, and the youngest divisions are frequently given the earliest ones. That puts a car full of nine year olds on a cold road before sunrise, driven by a parent who was up late getting kit ready.
A commercially operated vehicle is a different standard. The chauffeur is licensed and insured to carry passengers for hire, the vehicle is maintained and inspected commercially, and it is cleared of snow and warmed before anyone boards. When the passengers are this young, that is the whole argument on its own.
What the weekend costs per family
That is the argument for booking the bigger vehicle at this age group. Because nearly every player travels with an adult anyway, the coach is both the one that fits and the one with the lowest number in the per-family column.
What no column shows: the parents watched the games, standing at the glass rather than circling for a space, and nobody drove home tired in the dark afterwards.
Pickups for teams travelling to the cup
It runs across the Greater Toronto Area and the Lake Ontario Region, taking in Toronto, Mississauga, Markham, Vaughan, Brampton, Oakville, Richmond Hill and Ajax-Pickering. We pick up across all of it, plus Etobicoke, North York and Scarborough, and from hotels for teams travelling in from further out. By the hour, which is how a tournament weekend is booked: approximately $175 an hour on the Regular Sprinter from a $525 minimum spend, approximately $250 an hour on the 27-Passenger Mini Bus from $1,000, and approximately $300 an hour on the 56-Passenger Coach from $1,800. What is the Platinum Cup?
One of the Greater Toronto Hockey League’s early-season tournaments, played at Scotiabank Pond in November. Long an Under-11 event, it has widened to carry Under-10 as well, and has been drawn at 48 teams across six divisions: U10 and U11 at A, AA and AAA, eight teams each.
Which age groups play in it?
Under-10 and Under-11, at A, AA and AAA. That is the youngest end of the league, which is why the seat count usually has to cover parents as well as players.
Can teams from outside the league enter?
Yes. Entry is open to Hockey Canada sanctioned, OHF and USA Hockey teams at those age levels. Teams travelling in are exactly the ones that benefit most from one vehicle for the whole weekend.
What size vehicle does a U10 or U11 team need?

Does bringing parents make it more expensive per family?
No, cheaper. The vehicle cost divides across more families. Six hours on the 56-Passenger Coach is about $1,800, which across thirty families is $60 each, against about $83 each when a mini bus is split across eighteen.

Scotiabank Pond, 57 Carl Hall Road, Toronto, Ontario M3K 2E2, in Downsview Park. It has four NHL-size ice pads, which is how a forty-eight team draw fits into one building.
Will the bags fit?
On the 27-Passenger Mini Bus and the 56-Passenger Coach, yes, in hold space underneath. Even a compact junior bag is about 24 by 14 by 14 inches and a full-size one is roughly 35 by 18 by 18, so a roster’s worth does not belong in a passenger cabin.
Do you provide child seats?
Yes, $25 each, fitted in advance. Give us ages at booking rather than on the morning, particularly where a younger sibling is travelling with the group.
Should we book by the hour or as a return trip?
By the hour for a tournament day, because the hours between games are the thing you are trying to cover. A by-the-trip price only buys the two journeys and nothing in between.
Does the driver wait between games?
On an hourly booking, yes. The vehicle stays with the group, the equipment stays in the hold, and there is one place for everyone to meet rather than families scattering across the afternoon.
What if a game runs over or the ice resurface slips?
Additional hours are billed at the same hourly rate, agreed with your chauffeur before the extra time starts rather than added afterwards.
How early should we book?
Eight weeks or more. Forty-eight teams want group vehicles on the same November weekend, and coaches and mini buses go first.
Where does the vehicle drop the team off?
At an unloading point agreed with you before the day. The arena publishes no marked coach bay, so we settle it in advance. On-site parking at Downsview Park runs off Carl Hall Road, Canuck Avenue and Downsview Park Boulevard.
How much is parking at the arena?
We do not publish a figure, because no rate is published that we can stand behind. What matters is that with six divisions running the lots turn over all day, which a kerbside drop removes entirely.
Is the driver licensed and insured to carry young children?
Yes. Commercially operated vehicles with a licensed, insured chauffeur, maintained and inspected on a commercial schedule. With passengers this young that is a materially different standard from a parent volunteering a personal car.
Can you handle an early start in November?
It is a normal booking. The vehicle is cleared of snow and warmed before anyone boards, and the chauffeur is working rather than driving after a short night.

What does a straight return trip cost instead?
A return is two legs. The published Regular Sprinter return is from approximately $1,000 within the GTA, which is two $500 legs held together. Across fourteen families that is about $71 each before tax and gratuity.
