What to budget for the transfer

Start with these approximate one-way budgets, then book online using your pickup, travel date and passenger details. If the vehicle or itinerary is not offered online, request a quote for that arrangement.

VehiclePassenger capacityFrom YYZ, one wayFrom downtown Toronto, one way
Sedan2 to 3 passengersApprox. $175 to $275Approx. $225 to $325
SUVUp to 6 passengersApprox. $300 to $450Approx. $375 to $525
Cadillac EscaladeUp to 6 passengersApprox. $425 to $600Approx. $525 to $725
SprinterUp to 14 passengersApprox. $550 to $750Approx. $650 to $900

All amounts are CAD, plus 13% HST and 15% to 20% gratuity. Luggage, stops, waiting, tolls and vehicle selection can affect the total. Passenger capacity does not override property occupancy or access limits.

The YYZ ranges are planning estimates based on our published Barrie rates and the approximate road-distance difference. Downtown Toronto ranges are estimates using Union Station as the reference pickup, not published flat fares. Allowance ranges are not a guarantee of the final price. See our current rates.

Google Maps puts the driving distance at approximately 120 km from YYZ and 145 km from Union Station to the destination. Distances depend on the route selected; some routes use toll roads. Enter the exact address for your booking.

The table covers one outward journey. Add the return when booking if you need both directions; these amounts do not include a driver staying with you or local trips during your visit.

Book your transfer online

A Sprinter charter from Toronto or Toronto Pearson (YYZ) to Glen Oro Farm needs a parking-area handover, not a drop-off at your dome. Glen Oro’s official FAQ says guest vehicles cannot enter the Eco-Retreat: farm staff meet guests in the parking area and move them and their bags in the property’s own utility vehicles. Arrange the Toronto or Pearson return around the same handover in reverse.

For friends sharing a forest weekend, that last part of the arrival deserves as much attention as the road journey. The Sprinter must suit the confirmed passengers and luggage, and Glen Oro must confirm the meeting arrangements for that vehicle. A seat count does not establish permission to bring a group onto the property. Book the accommodation separately, then connect its arrival instructions to the transport reservation.

Choose the journey before choosing the vehicle

One shared departure can work well when the group is ready at the same Toronto address, carrying a manageable set of overnight bags. It becomes less straightforward when half the party is landing at Pearson, another traveller has a large cooler, and everyone has booked a different arrival time. Start with those differences rather than a vehicle photograph.

The options below are planning choices to request, not a promise of available vehicles or approved access. Every arrangement ends at the farm-approved road-vehicle meeting point. No coach turning clearance or Sprinter entry into the Eco-Retreat is assumed.

Separate vehicles for split arrivalsTravellers who cannot reasonably share a departure or whose bags require another arrangementCan Glen Oro receive both arrivals, and who is the contact for each?Quote each route and departure separately, including return arrangements

A Sprinter’s usable luggage space depends on its layout. Ask about the particular vehicle proposed for the booking, not just the model name. A conference-style cabin and a passenger-van layout are not interchangeable packing plans. Count large cases, cabin bags, food containers and any equipment before accepting a vehicle recommendation.

The return is a separate scheduling decision even if it appears on the same quotation. One group may travel back to a Toronto hotel; another may need Pearson plus a city drop-off. Write out those destinations before confirmation. A round trip should not leave the second day’s route to a conversation beside the farm parking area.

An equestrian farm with an overnight Eco-Retreat

Glen Oro’s main website describes a long-established equestrian operation in the hills of Oro-Medonte, near Orillia. Horses remain central to the property. Overnight accommodation is part of a wider farm operation that also includes riding, lessons and equestrian events.

That distinction helps set expectations. Guests are arriving at a working rural property rather than a city hotel with a vehicle entrance at every room. The farm controls how people and luggage move into the accommodation area. A private driver should receive the current arrival instructions instead of following an assumption that the road continues to the booked unit.

The luxury camping page describes three accommodation categories: Explorer’s Tents, Stargazer Domes and Galaxygazer Domes. The unit you choose affects how you sleep, prepare meals and move around inside. It also affects how much you need to bring. Read the description for that category rather than using another guest’s photograph as a packing list.

For couples, a direct arrival may be enough to start the stay. Families and groups should coordinate more carefully. Confirm which units are actually reserved, who is travelling together and whether everyone has the same arrival window. The existence of several accommodation units does not mean that a group booking or an event has been accepted.

The parking-area handover

The farm’s published arrival process is specific: staff meet guests in the parking area and use the farm’s own 4×4 utility vehicles to move people and gear into the Eco-Retreat. Ordinary guest vehicles do not enter that area. The farm also coordinates a return to the parking area at checkout.

For a chauffeured arrival, ask Glen Oro how it wants the handover arranged for your booking. Give the driver the approved meeting point, the guest name and a contact who can communicate with the farm. Avoid sending the vehicle to the accommodation’s map position if that point lies beyond the guest-vehicle boundary.

Pack for a transfer of luggage between vehicles. A manageable set of bags is easier to count and move than loose shopping bags mixed with fragile gifts and outdoor equipment. Keep medication, phones and any essential personal items with you. Explain unusually large or heavy items to both the farm and the transport provider before the day of travel.

Outdoor clothing belongs at the top of the luggage or in the cabin. Glen Oro specifically advises guests to have weather-appropriate clothing accessible for the ride to the accommodation. A warm car arriving at a forest property does not remove the outdoor part of check-in. If it is raining or snowing, you will want the jacket before the bags are unpacked.

The farm’s utility-vehicle arrangement is an onsite service described by the property. It does not prove that a particular road vehicle can enter every part of the parking area, that a large coach can turn, or that all mobility needs can be accommodated. Those details require confirmation for the people and vehicle involved.

Choosing between the tents and domes

The Explorer’s Tent is the canvas option. Glen Oro describes a king bed, an ensuite bathroom and a kitchenette with cooking equipment. Its description includes a cedar shower and a composting toilet. For guests who want the tent format, those practical details matter more than applying a broad hotel category to the stay.

The Stargazer Dome has a loft sleeping area with a king bed below a skylight. Glen Oro expressly says guests need to be comfortable with heights and climbing a ladder. Do not leave that detail until arrival. If someone has difficulty with ladders, balance or nighttime movement, discuss the unit with the farm before paying for the stay.

The Galaxygazer is the larger dome category. The property’s accommodation page describes two king beds, one above and a fold-down bed below, plus a full kitchen with a fridge, oven and stovetop. That provides a different meal-planning option from the smaller kitchenettes, but it does not establish how your party should use the beds or whether the layout suits a particular access need.

Ask about the specific numbered unit if orientation or access matters. Glen Oro’s FAQ explains that units within a category have the same general amenities but different furniture, positions and outlooks. Some sit in the Hardwoods area and others in the Pines. A photograph of one category should not be treated as a promise of a particular view.

Stargazer DomeKing bed in a loft reached by a ladderIs everyone comfortable using the loft and ladder?

The accommodation decision should come before the vehicle decision. Confirm the people and supplies travelling, then ask the transport provider which vehicle fits. A lodging occupancy figure is not a car’s usable luggage allowance.

Toronto departure without a guessed arrival time

Use the arrival window from Glen Oro’s own confirmation as the starting point. The reviewed public material explains how arrival works but does not establish the exact check-in time for every booking. Use the time in your booking confirmation. Ask the farm before choosing an early departure simply to reach the property sooner.

Give the transport provider the actual Toronto pickup address and meeting point. If the trip begins at a hotel, identify the property and entrance. If it begins at a condominium, check the loading arrangements with the building. A neighbourhood name leaves too much unresolved when people and bags must meet a vehicle.

Glen Oro’s homepage publishes a broad Toronto driving estimate. That is useful regional context, but it is not a timetable for your trip. The journey depends on the origin, date, road conditions and stops. Request an assessment for the itinerary you plan to book rather than treating the farm’s marketing estimate as a guaranteed arrival.

If several travellers are meeting in Toronto, agree on whether everyone can reach one pickup point. Multiple collections can be requested, but they change the journey. Give every address before the quote is confirmed. Avoid making the final traveller’s pickup dependent on an unplanned detour after the car has already left.

A direct journey gives you more control over the handover at Glen Oro. If you want lunch or shopping along the way, select the stop and check the opening arrangements. Then share the complete plan with the transport provider and advise the farm of the intended arrival. A late change should reach both parties.

Pearson arrivals and the farm check-in

For a Toronto Pearson pickup, provide the flight date and number, passengers and luggage alongside the confirmed Glen Oro arrival details. The scheduled landing time is only one part of the plan. Guests still need to leave the aircraft, collect checked bags and complete any applicable arrival formalities before meeting the vehicle.

Ask the provider for its current pickup procedure and the terms for delays or additional waiting. Follow the instructions attached to your booking. No indoor meeting, fixed wait allowance or automatic extension is promised here. The important point is that the traveller knows how to contact the provider when ready.

Keep Glen Oro’s arrival contact and instructions available on your phone and in an offline copy. The farm needs to know when to expect you at the parking area. If a delayed flight changes that expectation, contact the host rather than assuming the driver can resolve accommodation access on arrival.

A late international arrival may not fit the original accommodation plan. Confirm the farm’s arrangements before committing to a pickup that depends on late admission. If the arrival cannot be accommodated, revise the overnight plan. The availability of a car cannot change the property’s check-in requirements.

Airport travellers should also decide how to obtain food. If you plan to cook, agree on any shopping stop before the transfer is confirmed. Include grocery bags and a cooler in the luggage assessment. After a long flight, a short, specific shopping list is more practical than an open-ended stop with no agreed duration.

Meals, kitchen space and luggage

Passengers and suitcases beside a black passenger van at an airport curb

Glen Oro describes cooking facilities in each accommodation category. Explorer’s Tents and Stargazer Domes have kitchenettes; the Galaxygazer has a fuller kitchen. The published descriptions include refrigeration and outdoor cooking equipment. Read the current list for your unit, then plan meals around that equipment.

The farm’s FAQ also points guests towards delivered meals, private-chef options and local dining. These are options to investigate, not inclusions in a transport booking. Confirm a supplier’s availability, delivery point and timing directly. A meal delivered to the property may need coordination with the farm’s vehicle restrictions.

For guests cooking at the accommodation, separate food into what needs refrigeration and what does not. Do not assume an unlimited fridge simply because a kitchenette is listed. Glen Oro advises bringing a cooler if you have a substantial amount of food. Tell the car provider about it before deciding that passenger space alone is sufficient.

The farm says it supplies firewood and the items needed for fires. That is one reason to read its packing guidance before loading a vehicle with camping equipment. Bring what you actually need for the booked unit. For restrictions or questions about outdoor cooking, the current host instructions take priority.

A car-free stay needs a food plan before departure. Review the farm’s dining information if you would rather arrange meals than carry groceries. Confirm any order directly with the supplier and ask Glen Oro where it can be received. The Toronto arrival transfer does not include a vehicle remaining at the property throughout your stay.

Riding is a separate reservation

Glen Oro offers privately guided trail rides, but the accommodation page says these need a separate reservation. Do not build an arrival day around an assumed ride. Book the activity through the farm’s stated process and retain its confirmation before asking the transport provider to work around the time.

The same applies to any preparation or participation requirements. Ask Glen Oro about suitability, clothing, arrival before the activity and any limits that apply to your party. The reviewed property information does not establish riding ages, weights, experience requirements or weather policies. Those details belong to the activity provider.

For a ride on arrival day, leave a practical gap between reaching the parking area and the activity. You may need to complete check-in, move luggage and change footwear. The road arrival is not the same as being ready to participate. If the timing cannot tolerate a flight delay or a road delay, consider a different activity day.

A departure-day ride also needs care. Ask how luggage, checkout and the activity will work together. The return car needs an agreed collection point and a realistic time when everyone can be ready with their bags. Avoid booking a flight connection around an activity whose finish and weather arrangements are still unknown.

Sauna, forest time and a stay without a car

Glen Oro advertises a wood-fired barrel sauna and cold plunge for guests. Its pages refer to private sessions arranged during the stay, although the descriptions of the sign-up process differ. Ask the farm which procedure applies when you arrive rather than treating a particular slot as reserved in advance.

No health benefit is promised here. The fact that the property offers a sauna or cold plunge does not establish that it is suitable for every guest. Follow the farm’s operating instructions and seek appropriate advice if a health condition affects participation. Transport planning only needs to account for the time you expect to be ready to leave afterwards.

The surrounding forest and trails are part of the stay described by Glen Oro. The farm also warns that guests will encounter natural surfaces, including dirt, gravel, roots, mud or snow depending on conditions. Suitable footwear is a practical requirement for enjoying the property, not a decorative addition to a weekend bag.

The accommodations do not have Wi-Fi or televisions, according to the official FAQ. The farm reports mobile reception with major carriers, but that should not be treated as a guarantee for a particular phone or every spot on the grounds. Download travel instructions before arrival and agree on a contact plan for the return.

A car-free stay works best when its movements are explicit. Time in the accommodation, a farm activity and a walk may require no additional road journey. An excursion elsewhere needs a separate plan. This article concerns the Toronto or Pearson journey and return, not a destination-local car service.

Children, pets and access questions

Glen Oro’s FAQ permits supervised infants and children and identifies risks around wood stoves, ladders, stairs and outdoor surfaces. Read those warnings in relation to the accommodation you intend to reserve. The right unit for adults who are comfortable with a loft may not be the right choice for every family.

For the road journey, give the transport provider any child-restraint requirements before booking. Confirm what can be supplied or installed for the specific children travelling. Accommodation permission and vehicle safety arrangements are separate matters; neither should be inferred from a general family-travel request.

The farm states that pets are not allowed on the property and explains that the rule relates to its horses and other animals. Do not arrive with a pet because a transport provider is willing to carry it. If you need to discuss an assistance animal or another specific situation, raise it directly with the farm rather than relying on an article to settle the issue.

Mobility needs require a detailed conversation. Describe the guest’s needs to Glen Oro, including transfers between vehicles, outdoor surfaces and access inside the accommodation. Then describe the road-vehicle requirements to the transport provider. A larger car cannot solve a ladder or a path that is unsuitable for the guest.

Group organisers should keep lodging, transport and event permission distinct. Glen Oro publishes accommodation numbers, but those figures do not establish availability for your dates or the terms of an event. Secure the actual reservations before building a group pickup plan. Large-vehicle access remains subject to an assessment of the approved arrival area.

The return begins before you reach the parking area

Glen Oro says it coordinates a checkout pickup to move guests and their gear back to their vehicles. For a private transfer, confirm how that process meets the waiting road vehicle. Give the farm the agreed collection time and give the driver the correct parking-area meeting point.

Build time for packing and the onsite move into the morning. A road pickup time should mean everyone can meet the car with their belongings, not the moment they start leaving the dome. Keep the party together and account for food bags and personal items as well as suitcases.

A Pearson departure needs the flight details at the planning stage. Use the airline’s airport-arrival guidance and ask the transport provider to assess the journey from Glen Oro’s confirmed address. Do not reverse an advertised Toronto driving estimate and assume that it supplies a safe airport schedule.

If your return is to a Toronto hotel rather than the airport, give that address explicitly. If travellers are separating after the stay, provide every requested destination before confirmation. A return booking should describe the journey you need, not merely say that it is the opposite of the outbound trip.

Put the group plan into one message

Keep one shared itinerary, with a named organiser and a second contact who can answer on travel day. The organiser should have the accommodation confirmation; the driver needs the approved entrance and road-vehicle meeting point, not private details about each guest’s stay. Send only the information needed for the journey.

  • Outbound: travel date, exact Toronto pickup or YYZ flight details, passenger names or a reliable headcount, and the farm’s confirmed arrival window.
  • Vehicle fit: suitcases, smaller bags, coolers, unusual equipment, child-restraint requests and relevant access needs.
  • Handover: the farm-approved parking-area meeting instructions and a guest contact who can reach Glen Oro.
  • Return: collection date, time everyone will be at the parking area, final Toronto addresses or Pearson flight details, and requested stops.

Ask the transport provider to put the agreed scope in writing. It should be clear whether both directions are included, how changes and waiting are handled, and what happens if a flight delay pushes arrival beyond the farm’s arrangements. These are terms to confirm, not benefits promised by this article.

Before leaving Toronto, check that the group has the correct version of the plan. A changed flight, an extra case or a different checkout arrangement should reach the provider and the farm when it affects them. Once the party is in the forest, it is much easier to follow a clear return plan than to assemble one from several message threads.

Questions about the Toronto and YYZ journey

Where is Glen Oro Farm?

Glen Oro identifies its location as Oro-Medonte, near Orillia. Use the current address and entrance supplied with your booking for the transfer. A Barrie or Orillia town-centre destination is not a substitute for the farm’s arrival point.

Can a driver take us directly to our dome?

No ordinary guest-vehicle access into the Eco-Retreat is described. Glen Oro says staff meet guests in the parking area and move them and their gear to the accommodation in farm utility vehicles. Confirm the handover for your booking.

Is a Sprinter automatically the right choice for our group?

No. Confirm the passenger count, luggage and specific cabin layout first. A smaller party may be better suited to a smaller vehicle, while split flight arrivals may need separate departures. Ask for a vehicle assessment without treating a seat total as an accommodation allowance.

Can the transfer start at Pearson?

Include the flight number, date and baggage when requesting an airport pickup. Follow the confirmed pickup instructions and tell Glen Oro if a flight change affects arrival. No airport waiting policy is assumed in the reviewed property information.

What is the difference between the tents and domes?

The Explorer’s Tent is canvas accommodation with a king bed and kitchenette. In the Stargazer, a ladder leads to the loft bed. The Galaxygazer is the larger dome with two king beds and a full kitchen, according to the property’s accommodation page.

Does the Stargazer require climbing a ladder?

Yes. Glen Oro explicitly describes a ladder into its loft sleeping area and says guests should be comfortable with heights. Discuss any concern with the farm before reserving that category rather than discovering the issue after arrival.

Is there a minimum stay?

The property publishes a two-night minimum and says some single nights are released closer to the date. Check the booking calendar for the specific accommodation and dates you want. A general calendar opening does not prove your preferred unit is available.

Are trail rides included in the overnight booking?

A separate riding reservation is required according to the accommodation page. Book the activity through Glen Oro and retain the confirmation. Arrange transport around that confirmed time rather than assuming riding is available on arrival.

Can we cook at the accommodation?

The published descriptions include kitchens or kitchenettes and outdoor cooking equipment. Check the equipment for your category before planning meals. Groceries, cooler space and any shopping stop should be included when discussing transport.

Should we bring firewood?

Glen Oro says it supplies the materials needed for fires and can explain their use. Review the current guest instructions before bringing additional equipment. Follow the farm’s rules for stoves and outdoor fires during the stay.

Are the units heated in winter?

The FAQ describes heating arrangements for each accommodation category and year-round operation. Guests still need clothing for the outdoor setting and the transfer from the parking area. Check the expected local weather before packing.

Is there Wi-Fi in the accommodation?

The farm says there is no Wi-Fi or television in the accommodations. It reports mobile reception with major carriers, without establishing a guarantee for every device. Save arrival and return instructions offline before travelling.

Can children stay at Glen Oro?

The FAQ allows supervised infants and children while warning about stoves, ladders, stairs and outdoor hazards. Choose the accommodation with those details in mind. Confirm child-restraint arrangements for the road journey separately.

Are pets allowed?

The farm’s FAQ states that pets are not allowed because it is a horse farm. Do not assume a vehicle’s pet permission changes the property rule. Raise any specific assistance-animal or access question directly with the farm before booking.

Is the sauna session booked in advance?

The property describes private sauna and cold-plunge sessions arranged during the stay. Its pages give different descriptions of the sign-up method, so ask staff which process currently applies. A transport or accommodation enquiry does not itself reserve a session.

Does a round-trip charter include a vehicle during the stay?

Do not assume it does. Have the quotation identify the outbound journey, the return journey and any separately requested use between them. A Toronto drop-off and a later collection are different from keeping a vehicle available at the farm.

Can a coach bring a group to Glen Oro?

Coach access has not been verified in the reviewed property information. The farm and provider must assess the approved stopping area and vehicle suitability. Published lodging numbers do not prove turning clearance or group availability.

How does the return pickup work?

Coordinate the farm’s checkout shuttle with the road-vehicle collection in the parking area. Allow time to move guests and bags out of the Eco-Retreat. Confirm the final meeting point and contact details before the departure day.

How much does the private transfer cost?

Request a journey-specific quote using the actual origin, destination, dates, passengers, luggage and stops. No numerical transport rate is quoted here. Accommodation prices and regional hourly examples should not be treated as the cost of this journey.

What should we send with the request?

Send the accommodation name, arrival instructions, pickup address or flight, passenger and bag counts, access needs and return details. Include confirmed activities that affect timing. book your transfer online after those details are available.
